The country of Botswana is located in the center of the Southern African region. It is landlocked by Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. The country is made up of desert and delta. The Kalahari desert to the south and south-east, and the Okavango delta to the north and north-west. The country has one of the fastest growing economies, yet it also has the world's second highest AIDS prevalence rate. The AIDS pandemic is ravaging people between 15-29 years of age. In some parts of Botswana, 52% of the people between 15-29 years are infected with HIV/AIDS. Last year, an estimated 33,000 people died of AIDS; nearly one every fifteen minutes. If this generation is not captured by the transforming power of the Gospel, it is possible we will lose an entire generation.
